Whitt Elementary School Principal, April Shaw and Assistant Principal Chad Pope believe that all children should be given the opportunity to a solid, meaningful education. Our number one focus is on making dreams come true one step at a time. We believe education is the thoroughfare on which dreams are made. Therefore, student achievement is of paramount priority. We plan and make decisions that are based on what is best for students. Decisions are well thought through via collaboration with community, staff and students based on both qualitative as well as quantitative data.

In order to meet the challenge, high expectations are set for all and rigorous education begins early. Our staff ensures that the school environment is a place where children feel safe and secure. Instruction is designed and delivered based or research proven techniques and strategies that are developmentally appropriate. Strong educational foundations begin with a bond that is forged between parents and educators

We believe that in order to educate our students we must cultivate a climate of caring, respect, accountability and customer service. By doing so, we empower our staff and students to be problem solvers and active learners and ultimately become the best they can be.
