I grew up in Arlington, Texas where I graduated from Arlington High School. I started playing violin in 5th grade and quickly fell in love with orchestra. After graduating high school, I attended the University of Tulsa where I received a Bachelor of Music Education. This will be my first year teaching and I am very excited to be teaching orchestra at GFAA.
It is my personal belief that every student has the right to an opportunity to learn music, and specifically orchestra. Being in a music ensemble helps children learn self-discipline, teamwork, and gain self-confidence. It is my hope that by setting a positive example in music and life, students will grow into exceptional and contributing members of society. Music is not a subject similar to any other. It is one of the few subjects that carries over into every aspect of a students life, from learning life lessons to motivating them to do well in their schoolwork to helping them enrich society.
