The 2010-2011 school year was the first year of existence of Fannin Middle School, although Fannin Elementary has been serving far northwest Grand Prairie students for many years. In the summer of 2010, the school was completely remodeled to create a middle school for the neighborhood. Its first year of operation has been successful above expectations, and the school already has an enrollment above its expected capacity. Fannin serves Grand Prairie students with its many athletic, academic, and extracurricular programs, a vital parent program managed by our parent liason, and a Newcomers' Program, which services students who do not speak English upon their arrival in our school district. Our art, theater, and music programs are already award-winning, and many Fannin students consistently perform both in and outside of our city.
