For the second year GPHS's APES has received the Keep Texas Beautiful Award for their "Go For It" enviornmental stewardship campaign. photo
The Clean Campus Program partners GPISD, local businesses, and the City of Grand Praire to implement litter prevention, recycling efforts and campus beautifications projects.
Campus projects included: .
	Adoption of a pond and surrounding riparian forest which was designeated as a wetland mtigation site by the U.S. Corps of Engineers
	Cleanups have diverted more than 2,000 lbs of trash and debris from the pond and area. photo
	Students have planted more than 65 trees and maintaina 94% survival rate.
	Monitor water quality using Texas Watch Chemical Monitoring kits, Secchi disks and Benthics (bug catching) techniques to mnitor the biological health of the water.
