WEIGHTED POINT SYSTEM

Grand Prairie High School Pre-AP and Advanced Placement courses receive weighted grade point on the transcript and a "P" follows advanced placement courses. An "H" will follow Pre-AP courses. Special education courses have an "S" after the course name. A cumulative grade point average begins in the 9th grade and is updated after each trimester. Students who take approved high school courses while in middle school receive the same grade point as the equivalent course taken in high school. A "J" on the transcript designates courses taken in middle school. These designations as well as all others used by GPISD appear as a key on the student's official transcript.
